Update, 27 Oct 2026 (after this record): ballast's 2-of-3 Safe used its documented fee setting, and ballast announced the change publicly. ballast is also building a launch generation with the fee fixed at launch and no owner; we will record it when it is live. The 2-of-3 Safe 0xEFC9…aC079 raised the fee from 1% to 3% (split still 80/20) at block 96,088,731, 23 Oct 16:46 UTC: the transaction. ballast confirmed it publicly and says a new launch generation will fix each launch's fee at creation, with no owner. Older launches stay on the Safe-controlled setting. The record below is unchanged and still reads as of 19 Oct.
Reading note, added 27 Oct 2026. The fee settings below are run by ballast's 2-of-3 Safe without a timelock. That is ballast's design, described here, not a grade. The findings are left as published on 19 Oct.
ballast's current hook charges 1% split 80/20 as published, but a Safe can change the fee (up to 10%) and the split at any time with no delay, and tokens on an older hook still run 50% creator / 50% platform-and-referrer.

Findings
The current hook matches the published split. The current hook BallastHook 0x4eb2…42cc reads its fee from settings contract 0xe09f…e5ad, set on 26 Sep 2026 to a 1% fee split 80% creator / 20% platform / 0% referrer. That matches "1% fee, 80% creator side, 20% platform".
The hook itself is fixed code. Both hooks are verified on the explorer, are not proxies and have no owner. Each points at a fixed settings contract chosen at deployment.
The fee and split can still be changed, with no delay. The settings contract is owned (two-step ownership) by a Safe multisig 0xefc9…c079 since 29 Sep. The owner can change the fee (1 to 10%), the split, the platform vault and allowed referrers at any time; there is no timelock. The platform vault was last changed on 6 Oct.
Tokens on the older hook run a different split. An earlier hook BallastHook 0x7431…80cc uses its own settings contract 0xc0b8…a594, never updated since deployment: 1% fee, 50% creator, 35% platform, 15% referrer (the referrer share goes to the platform when there is none). Tokens whose pools use this hook, such as $CLAP (0x0b5d…a16f), are still listed on ballasted.fun. Its settings are owned by 0xa277…37d1.
"One hook" is true per launch, not across all tokens. At least two Ballast hook versions are live, plus an earliest one paired with a token outside the current list. Buyers should check which hook a token's pool uses.

Method and limits
- Hooks found from Uniswap v4 Initialize events on the PoolManager for ballast tokens
- Hook and settings source read from the explorer (verified); constructor arguments decoded for the settings address
- Settings history from ParamsUpdated, PlatformVaultUpdated and ownership events
